Hourglass Sling
The hourglass lift sling is designed and shaped for maximum comfort. Its design does not incorporate sling legs and instead uses a basket configuration to provide comfort and modesty. The sling also has a built-in, mini head support. Additional options include a toileting hole and a belt. The belt helps to prevent falling forward and rolling from side to side.
This sling must be applied and removed in bed and by log-rolling the person. This sling is designed to remain under the person while they are sitting in a chair or wheelchair.
The hourglass sling is used for several purposes including:
1. People with larger lower extremities
2. Amputees above or below the knee
3. Those with sensitive or thin skin (helps to prevent shearing)
4. Brittle bones (evens out pressure points)
5. Tight fitting wheelchairs or larger bodies where it’s difficult to get sling on and off to prevent care giver
injuries
It is available in sizes Small to XXXL with a variety of fabrics including washable, mesh, wipeable and spacer mesh.
The spacer fabric model on this patient lift sling features a three-layer fabric that releases moisture, allows air flow, and dissipates heat. It provides four-way stretch, naturally ventilating properties that take moisture away from the skin, and soft, cushioning characteristics to reduce force. Shown in studies to be the most effective in reducing peak pressures, and more likely to reduce the risk of pressure ulcer development if left under the patient.* The material is soft and cushioning and helps to prevent the patient from sliding in the sling if they have decreased levels of trunk control.
The regular mesh fabric is good for people with wounds on their legs and backside, because it allows for airflow. There is no shearing on the person’s legs, because there are no legs on the sling itself. Instead the thighs rest on a solid pad.

EZ Way, Inc. warrants that all new equipment, with normal use and service, will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of (see above) from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. Normal wear and tear, injury by natural forces, user neglect and purposeful destruction are not covered by this warranty. Warranty service must be performed by the manufacturer at 701 E. Washington St., Clarinda, Iowa, or by an authorized repair center at their location. On occasion, EZ Way Inc. may authorize in-house repairs, but these repairs MUST be pre-approved to avoid invalidation of the warranty. Services covered under warranty include any labor that takes place at EZ Way Inc. Cost of Labor incurred while installing the warranty part at the place of ownership is not covered by this warranty. EZ Way, Inc.s obligation is limited to the replacement of parts that have been returned and are determined by EZ Way, Inc. to be defective.
